Last week, HydGene Renewables had the privilege of participating in the Hunter Climate Innovation and Investment Summit, an event that brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to showcase the Newcastle region’s role in the global decarbonisation movement. Hosted at I2N Newcastle, this one-day summit highlighted the Hunter’s transformation into a powerhouse for climate tech innovation!

Our CEO, Louise, participated in the Startup Showcase, sharing updates on our on-site, on-demand green hydrogen technology with industry stakeholders. We also joined the Allegro Energy tour, gaining insights into the growth of this exciting energy storage company developing solutions for long-duration battery storage technology. Seeing firsthand how deep-tech startups like Allegro have scaled up within the Hunter region reinforced the potential we also see for innovative climate solutions to drive both local and global impact.

Our many conversations throughout the day focused on the future of sustainable industry transitions, circular economies, and investment in new technologies, aligning strongly with our mission to decarbonise chemical manufacturing and heavy industry through green hydrogen solutions, using our renewable biomass resources in a ‘different way’.

A big shout out and thanks to the Greenhouse, Investment NSW, and TRaCE teams for bringing together changemakers! Regional events like these are critical for building the connections we need to support the scale-up of new technologies addressing climate solutions like ours.

We are looking forward to continuing the momentum and deepening HydGene’s role in developing biorefining solutions for Australia and beyond.
