HydGene is going strong on the R&D front.
In 2022, we wrapped up our $2.8m grant with ARENA, Bioplatforms Australia and BOC after 4 years at Macquarie University. The report is now publicly available here. We have set up our own labs and offices in Parramatta, grown the team to 9 and hit key R&D milestones.
Most excitingly, our biohydrogen generator has now continuously made hydrogen - 24/7 - for nearly one year from the same batch of our biocatalyst made 11 months ago - and is still going strong. If you're keen to see it with your own eyes, come and visit us in our labs, and charge your phone or laptop with our green hydrogen while here.
We also exceeded our target yield for hydrogen production from sugar which now sits at 26%, and we have engineered a new strain that can metabolise glucose and xylose in parallel - maximising the energy we can extract from biomass waste.
We have built a new product line - to be announced soon - that will most strongly benefit our farming industry and the food sector.
We are now in scale-up mode for 2023!
